So we ordered dinner...

At some point B goes, "Is it hot or is it just me?" He was sweating bullets! Still in some kind of deuded denial, I still don't put 2 and 2 together.

While we wait for our order, I see two guys dressed in some traditional Pinoy clothing - not barongs, but the kind of outfits they wear when they perform some kind of Tinikling dance, know whatta mean? They both have guitars, and I'm about to hide my face coz, the cheap bastard in me is thinking, oh shit, we gotta tip them, hehe. I assume they will make their rounds before they get to us, but they make a bee line to our table! Of course, i start to suspect but it still doesn't click. One guy has long hair tied in a pony-tail, and I could swear his other gig is a pinoy rock band of some kind. The other guys is darker skinned, skinny and has that typical pinoy short hair. They start playing some standard romantic English songs. These guys were talented! They had great voices, and played really well. I was a little cornied out when he sand "When you Wish Upon A Star" but his version was not too sappy and the guys voices more than made up for it. I also liked their version of "The Way You Look Tonight." And then. AND THEN!!! Well, first they sang for us for a looooong time. At least like 20 minutes or something. I kept looking at B, at first to try to send mental telepathy to him to tip them so they could go to the next table. (I'm a dork, I know) But mostly, we both just kinda smiled at each other and enjoyed the music.

AND THEN!!! So the guy starts talking about a Visayan love song and starts singing this beautiful song called, "Usahay." B starts translating it for me as they guy is singing. And I am getting all choked up. Coz finally, it is clicking. And he's translating them a little too well, know whatta mean? Like he KNEW they were gonna sing it. Then they start singing another Visayan love song called, "Matud Nila." And I feel the tears creeping up coz the lyrics (at least from B's translation) are so freaking touching! And I think, oh shit, he better not ask me now coz I think I'll just cry in a really ugly way, hehe.

And I'm getting nervous, coz I KNOW, it's gonna happen and I just wish it wasn't right then, coz I don't wanna be crying, ya know? So anyways, I'm still looking a t B, saying, you totally planned this! And he said, "E, I am not that smooth, i swear I didn't" or some big fat lie like that, hehe. But I sorta believe him, coz really, he's great, but not THAT smooth - or is he?! Hmmmmm?! Hehe. So the guys leave, B tips them, and B swears that the guys will move on to the next table. But they totally don't! They run over the hill and out of the resort!

B was still denying he had anything to do with it. And I think he asked me if I enjoyed it but by then, my head was already swimming. The delicious meals we ordered had arrived and as good as it looked, I suddenly had no appetite! I ate like a quarter of it at most. B managed to eat most of his and much of mine, hehe. Then came dessert time. B had been talking about dessert in one form or another that entire day and I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN.

We ordered leche flan. So the waiter comes with our dessert. On the tray he is carrying, there are two dishes, one with the flan, and another covered dish that obviously(not!) was gonna go to the next table on his route coz it obviously(nuh-uh) was not dessert since it had one of those metal covers on it. The waiter sets down the leche flan and some spoons. As I reach for my spoon, the waiter takes the other dish and before I could correct his obvious (uh, no) mistake, he says, simply, "special dessert." SPECIAL DESSERT! By this time, we're both happily toasted from our red wine so the tear ducts were not quite as ripe so it was a good time. The butterflies in my stomach and the spinning in my head were a different story. The waiter removes the metal cover (am i annoying you with my constant switching from past to present tense? anyway, whatever.) and there is a dark blue jewel box surrounded by different colored and types of flowers. B gets up from his seat, takes my hand to stand up from my seat and walks me over to the edge of the inifinity pool. And pushes me in. KIDDING!

I think he takes the ring from the plate, but I don't think I realized it. He gets down on one knee, takes my right hand, then he takes my left hand, then he says, "i forgot which hand!" and um, at that point, so did I, hehe. I finally settles on the left hand, looks up at me and says some private things that I think I'll just keep it between me and B, hehe. And then he asked me to be his wife!!

And I said yes!!

And then we kissed!!

And then there were fireworks! But I believe B when he says he didn't plan it. It was just a happy coincidence, but I'm supposed to let him claim it, so, uh, yeah. Let's just say the night ended with fireworks:)
