On a starry moonlit night in Bohol, B asked me to marry him.

And I said yes!

I should have seen it coming, but even I was surprised by the whole thing, especially at how I reacted to it all. To be honest, B and I have been talking about this for a while. I mean we pretty much knew that we wanted to share our lives together. It was just a matter of when. And as I look back at all of the "signs" that that would be the night he would officially ask me to marry him (ay, kilig parin ako, hehe), I'm surprised at how he was still able to surprise me.

It was our second night at the island resort and once again, we decided to "dress up" a bit even though we were pretty sure our fellow diners might dine in their shorts and even bathing suits. It was after all on the beach. We thought it would be fun to dress it up, even if it was just for ourselves. The night before we had a table by the pool, and even on the first night, it was pretty darn romantic already. The night sky was clear, the moon was nearly full, and the stars were pretty bright. Match that with the sound of the waves from the beach just a few feet away, and you can just imagine how romantic the warm night could be. The food was delicious, and save for the paper napkins with the pink and blue ice cream design, dinner was first class. That should have been one of the first clues that something was up that second night.

So we walk from our villa (each guest gets their own villa, as you can see from the pics) down to the pool and dining area with the bottle of Cotes Du Rhone (my favorite red wine) that I brought along care of Duty Free (hehe), hoping to get the same table we had the night before, right by the pool. We get there and all the diners are on the other side of the pool. There are three free table. "Our" table has a "Reserved" sign on it. I was a bit disappointed but we were happy to take the table next to it. Before we could sit at the unreserved table, a waiter rushes to us and says we can take the "Reserved" table. How nice of them!, I thought. (Heh, that shoulda been clue #1) We sit down, and the first thing I notice are the napkins. They're cloth! (clue #2) B immediately says, "I think every one tonite has nice napkins." It was so weird coz, I swear earlier that day we were talk about the napkins and joked around how they had everything so perfect except for the paper napkins. Weird, no? Anyways, we order dinner. I think I ordered a curry dish of some kind...(to be continued)
