Also, B and I just came back from a well-deserved trip to Boston. I'll be adding the pics to the photo log once they've been developed.

I did not write dis poem:
Then came dinner. We had Pad Thai (Thai noodles), mixed vegetables in coconut milk, and roast duck. Double yum! Everyone was so impressed, and B got quite a number of requests for furure parties! The fun part though was the games. Yes, I am a dork. I swear I get a lot done riding the subway. I devised it all on the train. I organized a game of charades and a "pre-easter egg hunt." O knew some of my younger relatives would be coming and they always get bored at these gatherings coz all we do is eat, talk and watch TV. I wanted them to have fun, and the adults could join in as well. I thought I would have a harder time convincing them to play charades and easy to send them on an egghunt knowing some of the plastic eggs had money and other goodies from the dollar store I recently discovered next to the school where I student taught. Anyways, it was a GREAT night. I'm getting lazy giving more details. Heh.
I also once heard, "Freedom must be gained, not given."
Name that quote.
This evening, I skipped out on yet another class (soooo bad!) and had a late lunch with the family, and then helped B prepare tomorrow's birthday dinner. I swear this is the first time i can remember ever preparing my own birthday dinner. And DON'T even ask how old I am.Heh. DO send cash.
The students are still lovable brats. A new Chinese American girl transferred into the class. She was so quiet at first, the classroom teacher thought she didn't speak English. But boy, when I started to talk to her and help her out a bit she threw questions at me left and right! She first asked me if I was born in China. Then she asked if my parents were from China. A nosy (but adorably witty) African American classmate butted in the conversation and said, "no, she's not from China. Her parents are from the Philippines but she was born in NY. She does look Chinese don't she? It's coz China is near the Philippines. They're both in Asia. She Asian." Words to warm my heart. To think, they actually were listening when I pointed out the Philippines to them on the classroom globe :)
or was the battle for real...i guess we'll never know....mwahahahahahaha...
seriously folks, i'm glad someone noticed, hehe.
