Whoa, this is big:

This topic has been the talk of the town for quite some time now.
The excitement has made you hang on to your seats until you're
about to fall. Finally, it can be heard.

Ely Buendia, Eraserheads frontman and chief songwriter is out with a
solo album - WANTED: BEDSPACER, released under BMG Records. The
carrier single with the same title will have its on-line premiere
today, September 1 on Philmusic.com

Listen and read all about it. Log on to www.philmusic.com for the
netcast of the single. Anyone with access to the internet all over
the world will be able to hear Wanted: Bedspacer in stereo quality
even with over 2,000 simultaneous listeners.

WANTED: BEDSPACER, the album is a solo effort in all respects. Ely
was songwriter, arranger, vocalist and producer for this 10-track all-
original collection. It would be interesting to note also that
WANTED: BEDSPACER is home-made. What do we mean exactly? Just get
a copy, it should be on the shelves of your favorite record bars even
as you're reading this.

I am an only child. And because of that, I'm used to getting much too much attention. It sucks really. I sometimes need my own time. Really. Like Sunday morning, the house was filled with...well, three other people--three to many. I was ready to cry, I so needed to be alone and finish this awesome book called the Red Tent. When I finished it, I wanted to read it again. I was at Barnes and Noble the other day looking for a "non grrl power" type book. Awful aren't I? I just kinda overdosed on those types of "I don't need a man" books and as great and empowering as they were, I kinda got sick of them. I was about to just get Kurt Vonnegut's seemingly non-grrl power, Sirens of Titan, and then I happened upon the irrestible cover of the Red Tent. It is such a good book. It is so well written. It's also has "grrl power" written all over it. Hehe.

When I finished the book in my much needed solitude, I called B.

"Wanna come over?"

"I hit the snooze button on my biological timeclockl!"

I missed you, really I did, but it was nice to get some sun: Great Adventure on Friday, Central Park on Saturday, errr...Pathmark on Sunday, it was a nice long but too short weekend!

I watched this movie last night. It was so good. If you understand Tagalog, head over to your local Filipino store and rent "Anak".

Hmmm, it seems Vilma Santos has been making really good movies lately, like "Bata, Bata Paano Ka Ginawa" and recently, "Anak." Does being a politician actually help one's acting skills? I always thought it was the other way around.

Emode's got the lowdown on my type of guy:

Creative. Sensitive. A bit offbeat. Your type is the Artiste, a unique guy who knows how to express himself in many ways, whether it's through words, music, or attire. You're attracted to his unconventional ways and his remarkable talents. He doesn't feel compelled to abide by society's norms. He believes that individuality is the key to happiness, and everything he does is a reflection of his "inner self." You fall head-over-heels for such confidence and style. Whether he's playing a song he wrote for just you or writing you a love letter, this guy knows how to make you feel special. He's in touch with his feminine side and doesn't need to assert his masculinity to feel manly. If we were to paint a picture of your future, the Artiste would definitely be part of it!

Hehe:)

This weekend was really nice. Probably one of the most relaxing ones in a very long time. Spent most of it (hell, let's be real, ALL of it:) with B. We finally made it to the park on Sunday evening, just before sunset and dang it was cold!

In an attempt to fix my computer to figure out why I can't seem to get the hell online, I am completely without AOL, at home at least, on my computer. B. cleaned out the system and now it seems to be just a shell of its former self. I hope he fixes it soon. To my chat buddies, don't miss me too much, I'll be back soon, I hope!

Ever since I started using blogger, I didn't really know what I was gonna do with the "Rants" section. And so today, I have renamed it to "Scribble." It is after all a service provided by Scribble.nu. One of the reasons I started this page with that rants section was to use it as a scratch pad for literary inspiration.

Or something like that.

Starting today (or when the mood strikes thereafter) that section will be for little creative spurts of fiction, semi-fiction, or something that will hopefully be part of a larger novel (or short story, hehe) that WILL come about...errr...someday.

I'm psyched for September 14, for the Babaylan book launch/reading in which I will be reading my piece that was published in it, "Tsismis." Actually, the thing I'm excited about is the fact that my friend, Bing, who incidentally is somewhat of a theater artist as she is an alum of the Philippine Educational Theater Association, will be performing it with me. After all, what is tsismis with a lone singular voice? Di ba? Well, we will be "updating" it. Fast forward to the millenium (the piece was written in 1996) and we will "conclude" that people are more direct these days with their "unintended" insults. Drawing from my recent visit to the Philippines, in which I had to endure every night of the lamay (wake) explaining to relatives and family friends alike why I had become so damn "taba." Hehe, we'll come up with the laundry list of replies I had used and those I wish i had used...Are you gonna be there?

Awww, P@3K, I know how ya feel...but guess who inspired (subconsciously manipulated?:) me to eat falafel for lunch today? You! That's right! You gotta keep writing, coz, heck, who else blogs as much as me during the day? Who else will I read??

I'm actually not in the mood to blog either, not coz I'm worried about who reads this or doesn't or whether what I write interests anyone. I "blog" mostly to entertain myself during the day, keep myself awake and take a break from the daily grind, maybe too much at times. Who knows when you'll have that sudden epiphany and thanks to blogger, have the means to share it with the world. Nevermind that the world may not be reading it, just that possibility that they could is reason enough...

I was such a goody goody in highschool...well for the most part anyway. Really! Can you believe I never played hooky? Not the kind where noone but your friends know and you leave the school completely or you don't go to school at all and instead, you hang out at a friends place or go to cool places like the Village.

I did skip out on school once in a while, but Mom always knew, and I usually just stayed home finishing a paper that should've been handed in days before. I skipped out on certain classes, but never really for fun, just to study for a test or complete an unfinished assignment.

I had a friend who wanted me to skip out of school, just once, I think he even dared me. But I didn't bite. We kept planning to, but I never got up the guts to actually go, and we came so close so many times, it seemed. And when it became clear that I wasn't gonna skip out with him, for some reason, we just stopped talking...sorta just faded away from my life. How weird is that? Why am I thinking about this now?

They BAIL out on me! So there we go, me and B, and who are we hanging out with? The only two other couples there. How silly is that? Going to a singles party with your boyfriend. Hehe.

You can only imagine why we left a bit early.

It was such a nice night, that we took a walk down from Rivington, along Essex/Ave. A up to 12 Street, walked up to 1st Ave. and ended up at Mandarin Grill, a local Filipino (yes, Filipino) restaurant. Hmmm, second time this week there. B. felt like he was eating dinner at home. I guess all roads eventually lead you home.

We've accepted the fact that we're not the kind of people that hang out til the wee hours of the morning. Does that make us lame? Well, maybe just me, hehe...

Anybody know who "Silly Cielo" could be? I'm so damn curious!!

But, thanks a LOT Yash, now I'm hooked too! Hmmm, someone should start a Pinoy Blaggers ring. Someone other than me, coz I'm just too damn lazy. Or you could say quite busy.

The reason New Yorkers come off as rude:

Really it's just a necessary form of self-defense.

Case in point: This morning I was walking my usual route to the bus stop (which takes me to the train, which takes me to another train, which takes me to another train, which brings me to work) and as I was turning the corner, this man sitting in his car, driver's side door open, says to me, "Good Morning." I usually ignore any communication expressed towards me by complete strangers, being the cold New Yorker that I am, but being that I have been out of the city so much in the past few months, I was left temporarily vulnerable. I mean, how can you NOT say something in return to an innocent sounding "Good Morning" no matter who its from, right? So I go (with that slightly cold distant tone in my voice of course, I'm still a New Yorker for pete's sake) "Good Morning" and turn quickly to go around the corner. It's a good thing too because, as I walked a way, he says, "Ooh, baby, you so beautiful, can I have sex with you?"

Yech. Teaches me to say hello to strangers. Let that be a lesson to you kiddies, okay?

Yechhhh.
